Harper Macleod has seen its Banking practice bolstered by the addition of new Partner Tony Cameron who joins the firm from MacRoberts. Tony brings to Harper Macleod substantial experience in acting for both lenders and borrowers in a wide range of transactions and sectors having acted for a range of well-known Scottish businesses and spent time on secondment in a non-legal role within the corporate and structured finance team of a major UK bank. He joins a team which already acts for some of the world’s largest banks and financial institutions.
Professor Lorne Crerar, Chairman of Harper Macleod, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Tony to our highly regarded Banking team. Tony brings a wealth of experience to the team and already has strong relationships in the Scottish banking market. He is sharply focused upon the requirements of lenders and also provides an understanding of banks’ processes and motivations to achieve the best outcomes for borrowers.“
Professor Lorne Crerar is Scotland’s only Professor of Banking and was appointed last year by the Lending Standards Board to be the independent reviewer of the Lending Code (which has had many positive consequences for personal and business lending).
