Changes to the Construction Act

The Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 is due to come into force on 1 November 2011 in Scotland, with the 2009 Act already being brought into effect in England and Wales as of 1 October 2011.

The 2009 Act affects all contracts for construction projects entered into on or after these respective dates and seeks to improve cash flow and the adjudication rights laid down in The Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
