WD 40s charity match runs smoothly

David McIndoe, Head of our Private Client Department (middle row, second from right), recently took part in a charity rugby match between the Waysiders Drumpellier RFC WD 40s (you normally have to be 40+ to be considered for selection) and Hillfoots Old Boys, which our firm was happy to support as strip sponsors.

The match raised several hundred pounds for the charity ‘Aiming Higher for Malawi’, which Waysiders Drumpellier has an affiliation with. David’s WD 40s were narrowly defeated on the day by Hillfoots Old Boys.

Although the day was a success, David found out why he gave the game up 20 years ago after dislocating his finger 5 minutes into the match but played on regardless. David commented afterwards that, for him “rugby is now very much a spectator sport”.
