Following a competitive tender, Scottish Law Firm of the Year, Harper Macleod, has been appointed as legal advisor for both Loch Lomond & The Trossachs and Cairngorms National Park Authorities (NPAs).
The legal work involved will be wide ranging but will contain a large element of planning, environmental and property advice as the NPAs seek to conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the area while promoting sustainable use of natural resources and improving quality of life for local communities.
Professor Lorne Crerar, Chairman of Harper Macleod, commented: “As a firm that prides itself on its dedication to Scotland, its communities and future growth, we’re proud to now advise the country’s two National Parks. We see this as an important win, adding to our complement of major public sector clients. The work involved represents a very challenging and interesting opportunity and we are looking forward to working with each of the authorities.”
Fiona Logan, CEO Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park welcomed the appointment: “Harper Macleod has an outstanding reputation as one of the leading law firms in Scotland. The National Park has a variety of legal demands across each of our areas of work including planning and development and visitor management. Harper Macleod has demonstrated how they can provide the necessary expertise across a range of issues and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
