We’re pleased to tell you that our healthy workplace programme has retained its Big Tick status in Business in the Community’s (BITC’s) 2010 Awards for Excellence. BITC’s Awards for Excellence rewards businesses who demonstrate the positive impact they have had on society, and also the business benefits created by ensuring social responsibility is integral to their business model.
Our chief executive, Martin Darroch, says: “We are delighted that our Healthy Workplace programme has been reaccredited in the 2010 Awards for Excellence. Our firm recognises that our people truly are the key to our success, and the success of our clients, which is why we focus on improving employees’ health and motivation. As a business, we have also felt the benefits. By investing in the wellbeing of our employees through initiatives such as free fruit every day for employees, funding ‘Lifestyle Checks’, and offering education on correct posture and how to stop smoking, we’ve helped our absence rate drop by 3.7% over the last year.”
The reaccreditation certificate was presented to Martin by HRH Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, at the Sustainable Scotland Summit.
